A seafood trade mission to China was successful, according to the province.
The 10-day trip by Fisheries Minister Kent Smith helped promote Nova Scotia’s seafood market, and support local companies.
In a release, Smith says the goal was to strengthen the province’s relationship with China, which is our second-largest seafood market.
He says they also gained a better understanding of China’s consumer trends and healthy choices.
Smith adds despite new tarrifs on most seafood imports from the country, there was a strong sense of optimism.
Eight local companies exhibited at the China Fisheries and Seafood Expo.
