Sentencing has been handed down to the man found guilty of murdering Nova Scotia rapper Pat Stay.
The province’s public prosecution service tells us Adam Drake has been sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 17 years.
Drake was convicted of second-degree murder in June 2025 after a six-week trial, which automatically carries a sentence of life in prison.
Stay was fatally stabbed at the Yacht Club Social in Halifax in September of 2022.
Drake was arrested a few days later and charged with first degree murder, which was later changed to a charge of second-degree murder.
He was convicted in June 2025 after a six-week trial.
It took the jury less than 12 hours to reach the verdict.
Drake is already serving a life sentence for killing another man nine years ago, but he plans to appeal that conviction.
