There is an online petition to rename Birmingham Airport after Ozzy Osbourne! The campaign cites Ozzy as “the most important musician to ever hail from Birmingham” and says that naming the airport after him would be a fitting tribute.
The campaign mentions other UK based airports are named after their famous children I.E George Best International Airport in Belfast, John Lennon Airport in Liverpool. “So it is only right that we do this here in Birmingham.”
The campaign has just shy of 69,000 signatures as of writing, Including arguably the most important signature, Sharon Osbournes. Who said “It would be amazing. The world loved Ozzy. It’s just a dream right now, but sometimes dreams come true.” in an interview with The BBC.
Dan Hudson, the creator of the petition, has already appeared in front of Solihull Council where the airport is based to present his case.
