A new level of hockey for fans to watch.
The Nova Scotia Senior Hockey League begins its inaugural season this weekend.
There are seven teams in the league and two divisions.
The Antigonish Bulldogs, Pictou County Pipers, Truro Bearcats and East Hants Penguins make up the Northumberland Division.
In Cape Breton, you’ll find the Cape Breton West Knights, the County Islanders and the Glace Bay Miners.
Saturday night, the Antigonish Bulldogs host the Pictou County Pipers, the East Hants Penguins visit the Truro Bearcats and the Cape Breton West Knights take on the Glace Bay Miners.
Senior hockey was popular in the 90s in the province, the Truro Bearcats won the 1998 Allan Cup national championship.
