Striking Canada Post workers are making their voices heard in Yarmouth.
A handful of CUPW Local 138 members were picketing at the Purolator location on Industry Avenue this morning.
This union member told Acadia News that they were holding up the trucks for five minutes each.
“It’s not a real hard picket or anything like that, but we’re trying to spread solidarity to the other workers. Purolator is majority owned by Canada Post, so it’s very much connected to our struggle,” said the member.
He says the workers are tired of cuts and the threat of losing their jobs, and they’re not going to take it anymore.
Canada Post workers walked off the job last week after the federal government announced sweeping changes to the service.
The union called it an attack on the postal service and workers.
