Hundreds of lobsters have been seized in southwestern Nova Scotia.
On September 4, DFO officers arrested three after boarding a vessel in Yarmouth, over 370 lobsters were and the boat were seized.
Three days later, officers arrested two more in St. Mary’s Bay for fishing traps they weren’t authorized to.
Over 430 lobsters were released, along with 31 traps and three crates.
DFO says last week they seized nearly 700 lobsters as part of enforcement operations.
They say there were a variety of violations, including fishing with expired tags.
