Some wells are getting low in Yarmouth County.
Continued dry conditions mean conserving water is more important than ever.
Shane Strong with Yarmouth’s Regional Emergency Management office says there are local resources.
“Both the municipality of Yarmouth and Argyle have a water supply upgrade program, and our senior safety coordinators are working directly with clients who need extra help. The best thing you can do if your well goes dry is to call 211, and they can direct you to the best service,” said Strong.
There is also bulk water access in the Town of Yarmouth for purchase.
Strong says dry wells aren’t widespread, but it’s something they’re monitoring closely.
He says every little bit of conservation can help the cause.
“Whether it’s taking shorter showers, not watering your lawn or washing your car, every little bit helps.”
