Last week I went to the largest airshow in North America called EAA Airventure. A yearly celebration of all things aviation that has been happening since 1953.

Imagine a week long music festival, but instead of artists it’s aircraft, and instead of music it’s daily air shows!

There was something there for everyone, whether you just like to look up at the sky any time you hear something flying, or you want to get into aviation for a career or just casual fun.

Each day often started by checking out the various display aircraft and booths.

And ended with a four hour long airshow featuring historic and state of the art aircraft.

And just like a music festival, there were camp sites. Over 15,000 aircraft flew in and set up tents on the grounds, with over 700,000 people in attendance total throughout the week. Fortunately we got a hotel instead so we didn’t have to deal with the 30 degree weather longer than we wanted to!

To top it all off there were two night air shows that ended in 20 minutes of fireworks, lasers, drones, planes with fireworks and explosions!
Here’s Redline Air Shows POV of the same moment!

Over all I had an absolute blast, and I don’t think I’ll ever see anything quite like it. I took over 4,000 photos, and what you see here is only some of the ones I have edited so far… it’s gonna take a while and I’m okay with that!
