It was the largest J-Strong softball tournament ever, and the most successful.
Over $20,500 was raised for the fund, which helps youth in Yarmouth County access sports.
Organizer Steve Berry says they had 28 teams, the most they’ve ever had.
“We could go bigger, but the tournament would go into the wee-hours of the morning. A great weekend, teams from Digby, Weymouth, Shelburne and Barrington came as well, and so many from Yarmouth. They come back and support us every year,” said Berry.
The tournament has been running since 2016, in memory of football player Jadon Robinson.
Berry says it’s a labour of love.
“To take something so tragic and leave a legacy of such positivity. To see how the community comes out year-after-year, and all the donations from businesses, it’s been great in the healing process.”
All the games were held at the Hebron Recreation Complex.
