The Yarmouth County Solid Waste Park has started a ‘re-use’ centre on Hardscratch Road.
Every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., a charitable organization is welcome to sell re-usable items left at the park.
Park manager Glendon Ring says a lot of good stuff comes in.
“Charitable organizations need funding and opportunities to raise money, and this is a really good opportunity for them to have the facility to themselves on Saturdays and raise money,” said Ring.
Yarmouth County Ground Search and Rescue were the first to take on the initiative Saturday.
Ring says they’ve made Saturdays available at the new entrance through the month of October.
“All funds raised are 100 percent for charity, we’re hoping to go to the end of October and help these charities raise money for all the good deeds they do.”
If your organization is interested, Ring says get in contact with him at the park.
