Five more years for Deborah Robinson as chief of the Wasoqopa’q First Nation.
Robinson won another election on Saturday, she’s been the chief for 38 years.
She had 376 votes, defeating Yolanda Pennell by just under 200 votes.
Eight councillors were also elected, Rachel Falls had the most votes with 339 and will be deputy chief.
Avis Johnson, Jeff Purdy, Charmaine Stevens, Michael Paul, Andrew Francis and Natteal Battiste all were re-elected, while Crystal Jeremy was the only new councillor to win a seat.
Voting was held in several locations including Yarmouth, Shelburne and Liverpool.
An election is held once every five years.
