It was a big weekend for Nova Scotians showing what they’ve got in skilled trades.
The 2025 Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) was held in Regina, Saskatchewan May 28-31.
Forty-one Nova Scotians took part, taking home 13 medals – three gold, six silver and four bronze.
According to Skills Canada, SCNC is the only national competition where students and apprentices, who are the best in skilled trades and technologies, compete to become champions in their disciplines.
“The Skills Canada National Competition is more than a showcase of talent- it’s a celebration of the next generation of skills trades leaders,” says Robin Lorway, Executive Director of Skills Canada-Nova Scotia.
“As Canada faces a growing demand for skilled tradespeople, this competition empowers our province’s youth to rise to the occasion, proving that their passion, dedication, and skill are not only recognized on the national stage but essential to building the future of our province and country.”
