Good Morning !
Looking around the Tri-Counties I see many flowering Trees and plants just Busting Out !
Lilacs have been busting out for the past week or so, the smell is unmistakable .
I often thought of Lilacs when I was a kid as being an Old Tree Type Bush because of what the Tree Stock looked like ” Old looking Bark ” well it turns out they have been here for awhile now .
The original Syringa vulgaris (common lilac) is a long-lived plant, lasting 200 years or more. You often see forgotten hedges of them in overgrown fields where they once attended a since vanished farmhouse. If you plant this species of lilac, be sure to choose a spot where people won’t disturb it.
