The fifth Yarmouth ‘Y-Con’ is expected to be the best yet.
The comic book convention is running at Mariners Centre this weekend for the second time.
Organizer Malcolm Seaboyer says the move to the arena was huge last year.
“It opened up more space for more vendors, attendees and events. This year we’re expanding further into more community rooms in the centre because we needed the room to keep growing, and they’ve been great partners,” said Seaboyer.
He says it aligns Y-Con’s vision of building community through play.
Seaboyer adds there are even more vendors than last year.
“You’ll see some new faces and returning vendors, along with video game and board game tournaments, and the ever-popular cosplay contest. And there are casual games you can take out of our library and just play with your friends. It’s a great atmosphere.”
They’ll also have a charity auction, with proceeds going to Juniper House in Yarmouth.
The event runs Friday to Sunday.
