The Town of Yarmouth is looking at its recreation future.
They’ve hired a consulting firm to develop a master plan on culture, parks and recreation.
Mayor Pam Mood says they want to make sure they’re giving citizens of the town what they need.
“To see what’s needed and what we’re missing, and what people are happy with. We want to re-direct our energy and finances to get closer to what the people of the town want,” said Mayor Mood.
An online survey is open until April 24.
Mood says community workshops will follow with public engagement sessions.
‘We can’t do the same thing over and over, it’s 2025. What needs to be different? We’ll find out with this plan.”
Mood says they’re meeting with the Municipality of Yarmouth, who they share Yarmouth Recreation services with.
She adds they’re looking at policies and how things are done to make sure everyone is on the same page.
