Another housing development could be coming to Yarmouth.
This one is on Pleasant Street, across from NSCC Burridge Campus.
Mayor Pam Mood says a developer is proposing three or four 35-unit apartment buildings.
“I think this is huge for NSCC. We are still looking for student housing. This would be right across the street. It would be a perfect opportunity for students to get there, the bus goes by there as well,” said Mayor Mood.
A public meeting is being held next Tuesday at the campus to learn more.
The project could join other planned housing developments for Shaw Avenue, as well as Water and Myrtle streets.
Mood says these developments will help the housing problem.
“The town is not responsible for housing, what we have to do is set the table to make sure developers want to come in and build housing. We’re seeing the benefits of that now.”
