Clare’s health centre expansion is nearing completion.
The municipality says primary care providers have moved into the main floor of the extension.
That includes five new medical offices with exam rooms, a resident classroom and more.
The Health Centre will be able to house 12 physicians, a nurse practitioner and a family practice nurse.
Clare’s expanded facility will cost $7.2 million, Nova Scotia Health gives the municipality $64,000 a month for operations.
About 290 people in Clare are without a family doctor, and officials say soon that will no longer be the case.
The project is expected to be done in March.
