A grand total of $112,502 was raised.
Power outages tried to play spoiler, but the resilience of the Yarmouth Hospital Foundation and volunteers came shining through.
Funds raised will go towards the purchase of heart equipment at the hospital.
This includes 15 wrist monitors and two electrocardiogram units.
Site medical lead Dr. Joe Gillis says it’s about minimizing risk to patients.
“And improving their quality of life. It’s about the health of the community and what we can provide to them as a hospital,” said Dr. Gillis.
The foundation collected donation by phone, online and in-person during the eighth annual broadcast.
Dr. Brian Moses with the hospital says the impact of the foundation can’t be measured.
“It’s been incredible to see the generosity of the community, and the impact of those who work for and with the hospital foundation in terms of what they provide to allow us to do a better job of caring for patients in the area,” said Dr. Moses.
