The sudden closure of a bridge in Weymouth has residents concerned.
Last week, the province shut down Gates Lane Bridge, which connects Weymouth Falls and Sissiboo Road.
The Department of Public Works says the 100-year old one-lane bridge will be closed temporarily, and the public will not be allowed to use it until further notice.
Local MLA and Labour, Skills and Immigration Minister Jill Balser says there has been a high volume of concerns in the community.
She says she’ll be at a public meeting on Saturday, along with the department to discuss the future of the bridge.
It’s happening at 10 a.m. at the Weymouth Legion.
