It could be a record-setting season for the Yarmouth Mariners.
After three more wins on the weekend, they now have 33 victories in 42 games.
Their most recent win, a 4-3 comeback in Truro on Saturday night.
The Mariners went down by two in the second, but rallied to score the next three, including two goals in the third period.
Their win percentage stands at .798, the team record is .770 set in 2019.
That was also the last time the Mariners won the MHL championship.
Head Coach and General Manager Laurie Barron says they’ve been on quite a ‘heater.’
“Since about the eight to ten game mark, it’s been full speed ahead. We have a great group of guys, they all really care about each other. It’s been a fun group to be around,” says Barron.

The Mariners are ranked eighth in the CJHL Top 20 this week, and have an eight point lead on Edmundston for first overall in the MHL.
After losing four of their first seven games, the Mariners have won 30 out of 35 contests.
Barron says they’re being viewed as the team to beat with a month left in the season.
“We’ve got a bullseye on our back. It’s nice to be ranked in the top 10 in the country, but it also gives you that distinction. We need to be ready to go every night.
The team has won four in a row after a home loss to Edmundston on February 4th.
They’ve only given up 96 goals this season, and are also chasing the team record for goals-against-average.
To get ready for the playoffs, Barron says they’ve been playing out the schedule by treating the games like best of seven series.
The Mariners have already locked up home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
“It’s exciting times, it seems like there’s a great buzz around the rink right now. Everyone should get excited about this team, I think it’s going to be a great playoff run.”
They have two games this holiday weekend, Saturday night against Valley and Monday afternoon versus the Crushers, both at Mariners Centre.
