Police have a suspect in custody in connection to what they describe as a suspicious death in Cumberland County.
Last night at around 7:05, Colchester County District RCMP and Cumberland County District RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Sand Point Hill Lane and Wharf Road in Five Islands. Officers discovered a deceased woman inside a home on Sand Point Lane.
The area was secured to preserve the evidence related to the death. They say it was not an active shooter situation, and it’s believed the parties were known to each other.
The suspect was taken into custody around 8:30 this morning.
They continue to ask the public for information on the incident.
