Many Yarmouth families will be able to have Christmas dinner, thanks to ‘Feed the Need.’
The initiative saw over 11-thousand dollars raised by the community.
Organizer Steve Berry says several volunteers delivered the meals yesterday.
“We had around 40 people help deliver, and come to Yarmouth Freshmart to pick up the food. They got them out to people that were nominated, so that nobody had to leave, it was delivered right to their door,” says Berry.
He says over 1,300 pounds of turkey, 2,220 pounds of potatoes were delivered, along with ham, veggies, gravy, stuffing and even cheesecake.
It was the third annual ‘Feed the Need,’ and the largest amount of meals donated.
