The Yarmouth Mariners are back home tonight against the Valley Wildcats.
They haven’t played at Mariners Centre since late November, but they’ve been finding success on the road.
The Mariners are in first place in the MHL standings, having won nine of their last 10 games.
Head Coach and GM Laurie Barron says this last stretch proved a lot.
“I thought if we could get through this part of the season in pretty good shape, I’d like our chances. We’ve been road warriors and we’ve played extremely well,” says Barron.
The Mariners lead the league with 19 wins in 27 games.
The Wildcats sit in fifth in the division, Yarmouth has won two of the three meetings so far.
Barron says it will be a battle.
“Two teams that probably don’t like each other a whole lot. The fans will be treated to a good one, it will be a hard-hitting, physical game I’m sure.”
Fans attending tonight’s game are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Salvation Army.
The Mariners wrap up the first half on Saturday night in Amherst.
