The Poorboys are back! If you’re not sure who I’m talking about you’re about to have a better day! The Poorboys were a band from the early 2000s based in Shelburne! The poorboys are Chett Buchannan, Alan Crosby, Bruce Reid, Mike Elliott and now the new band member Alex Buchannan!
They released one album called Deja Blues, this year they’re rereleasing it on streaming sites and are back together on November 25th for a concert at the Osprey Arts Centre! Here’s a sneak peak of the album!
Personally I love the album! It flows really well and is not your run of the mill garage rock band. The engineering of the album is amazingly crisp and clear! If you were wondering, it was recorded at the locally famous “Round House” In Jordan Falls, Nova Scotia. That was the house of Robbie Smith another local legend who wrote music for Roger Whittaker among others!
The talent on the album is also second to none! Everyone in the band has a unique sound and style that can be heard ibn every beat of every track. It’s the type of band that should have had more opportunity and exposure at the time. I’m glad the band decided to re-released the album and get back together!
Have a listen to my full interview with Chett Buchannan and Alan Crosby! Alan by the way is the drummer in the band and once took private lessons with The Allman Brothers Band’s drummer! They are the real deal!
Check out the Poorboys back together and live! They’ll be at the Osprey Art’s Centre in Shelburne On November 25th at 8PM! Find tickets HERE!
