
Junior C:
The Southwest Storm won both home games over the weekend, 6-4 over Chester Saturday and 6-1 over Eastern Shore yesterday.
Zach Richardson and Ethan Brannen each scored twice Friday, and Richardson potted two more yesterday.
The Storm lead the Nova Scotia Regional Junior Hockey League standings with a record of 6-1.
High School Hockey:
The Yarmouth High Vikings fell 4-3 to Parkview in the championship game of the West Kings tournament over the weekend.
Par-en-Bas and Clare also took part in the event, which was held in Kingston.
The regular season opens this weekend.
Local hockey:
The Yarmouth U15 AA Mariners fell 5-3 to South Shore on Saturday.
Colby d’Eon, Ben LeBlanc and Jake Sanford scored, with assists from Jesse Churchill, Sawyer Kristensen, Declan Fitzgerald, Mathieu Deviller and Cayden d’Eon, Rogan Swansburg was in net.
Yesterday, the Mariners lost to Acadia on the road 4-3.
Declan Fitzgerald, Lexx d’Entremont and Mathieu Deviller scored, with assists from Parker LeBlanc, Sawyer Kristensen and Cayden d’Eon, Rylan LeBlanc was in net.
The U15 B Mariners defeated South Shore 4-2 on Saturday in Chester.
Oliver d’Eon had a hat-trick and Fenton Amiro had the other goal, with assists to Brody Goodwin, Samuel d’Eon, Kole Corporong, Matheo d’Entremont and Cole d’Entremont. Simon Doucette was in net.
Sunday, the team fell 5-3 to the Shelburne Flames.
Matheo d’Entremont and Brady Newell had a goal and an assist, and Oliver d’Eon scored, with assist from Samuel Green. Simon Doucette was in net.
Volleyball:
The Par-en-Bas junior girls went undefeated at a tournament in Digby, defeating Middleton, Annapolis and Digby in the final match.
