Nova Scotians can now book their flu shot appointment.
Booking opened today for appointments starting on Saturday. The vaccine is free and available to anyone six months of age or older.
The province has ordered 474,000 doses of the influenza vaccine.
Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang spoke about flu shots with reporters today, saying there’s been a handful of cases of influenza in the province so far.
Strang reminded Nova Scotians to continue practicing the same healthy habits as they would for COVID-19.
The province says those five years and older can safely receive the influenza vaccine before, after or even at the same time as the COVID-19 vaccine.
They add if you’re feeling ill you should complete a COVID-19 self-assessment because the illnesses have similar symptoms.
You can book an appointment online here or by calling 1-833-797-7772.
