Two cruise ships are docking in Shelburne this week.
Tomorrow, the ‘Insignia’ arrives around 7 a.m, and the ‘Seven Seas Navigator comes in on Thursday at the same time.
Mayor Harold Locke says it’s a great comeback from the pandemic.
“We’re looking forward to having visitors on our waterfront and in our town. Hopefully things go very well. Things aren’t looking the best weather-wise, but we’ll deal with it,” says Mayor Locke.
The ‘Insignia’ will be carrying nearly 700 passengers, and almost 500 passengers will arrive on the ‘Seven Seas Navigator’ Thursday.
They’ll be able to experience shopping at Guild Hall, and many museum gift shops along the waterfront.
Locke says there will also be a bus to help visitors get around.
“They can go to Sandy Point Lighthouse, Boxing Rock, the mall, and experience our area. It’s quite promising, and we’re learning from past experiences on how to host the passengers.”
Five cruise ships are expected to visit Shelburne this fall.
