While the home buying frenzy in Nova Scotia is cooling, prices continue to rise.
The Tri-Counties haven’t been left out, with data from the Nova Scotia Association of Realtors showing how prices have increased compared to last year.
The average price in Yarmouth for July was $278,188 up 41.4% from last year.
Meanwhile in Shelburne, the average home price in July was $206,571, up 7% from last year.
And in Digby, the July average home price was $231,883, up 22.3% from last year.
NSAR also has data on the year to date average price for a house in the Tri-Counties..
From January to July of this year, the average price for a home in Yarmouth was $252,018, up 13.3% from last year.
The year to date average price for a home in Shelburne was $255,336, up 23.2%.
And in Digby the year to date price was $271,596, up 28.6% from last year.
The initial home buying frenzy was due to many people trying to escape COVID-19 and the restrictions to came along with it, however NSAR says interest in moving to Nova Scotia is still high.
