I remember growing up in the early 2000s, living in the country in the Summer, you’d see at least one bat a year. We used to have one get in the attic or get stuck in the wood shed every so often too. Now, I haven’t seen a bat in the wild in years! This I’m sure is partly due to the white nose syndrome, a disease that bats get that made the population degrese by quite a bit. About 90% of the bat population was killed by the disease between 2011 and 2013!
Last year though, experts claimed that bat populations were back on the rise! This is a very good thing because bats are responsible for keeping the mosquito and bug populations in check! Check out the video below for more bat facts!
