Thousands flocked to the side of Mariners Centre for Yarmouth Rotary Ribfest on the weekend.
The event returned after two years off due to the pandemic, as five rib trucks, entertainment and bouncy castles for the kids were enjoyed by families across the Tri-Counties.
Co-Chair Linda Deveau says community support was phenomenal.
“From the get-go of a two-year postponed plan, to the ninety, to sixty to thirty day window of the event happening, everyone has been so supportive. We can’t thank them enough,” says Deveau.
Fellow chair Paul Comeau says they had at least ten-thousand people through the gates at the end of day two Saturday.
“We’re very excited about what we’ve seen this year. We’re looking forward to improving, and seeing what we can do for next year. We’re thinking this is going to become a very important rotary event,” says Comeau.
Proceeds from the event are going to food and security initiatives in Yarmouth County.
Admission was free, parking was two dollars with proceeds going to Yarmouth County Ground Search and Rescue.
