
Two people have been charged with firearms and drug trafficking offences in Greenville, Yarmouth County.
Police have arrested and charged forty-five-year old Scott Anthony Deveau and 19-year old Sara Elizabeth Owen, both of Yarmouth.
Yesterday, the Yarmouth/Clare RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Greenville where Deveau and Owen were located and arrested.
The Nova Scotia RCMP Emergency Response Team assisted.
Police located and seized a firearm, ammunition, scales, cash, cellular phones, hydromorphone, benzodiazepines and cans of bear spray.
They are facing the following charges:
- Possession of Benzodiazepines for the Purpose of Trafficking;
- Possession of Hydromorphone;
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm;
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized;
- Unsafe Storage of a Firearm;
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
Deveau is also charged with two counts of Failure to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order, Possession of Ammunition Contrary to a Prohibition Order and Possession of a Firearm Contrary to a Prohibition Order.
He was remanded into custody and will appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court tomorrow. Owen was released on conditions and will appear in court at a later date.
