A trail in Argyle has received funding for upgrades from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.
$125,000 will go toward the stretch of trail from the county line in East Pubnico to the Bridge at Argyle Head.
The trail will be cleared, then gravel will be added and compacted.
President of the Yarmouth County Trail Development Association Ronald Day says it’s the farthest piece of trail from the town of Yarmouth.
“It may get a little neglected at times so fixing it up like that will be a real benefit to everyone who uses the trail.”
He says the association is a volunteer group.
“We’re sort of just keeping everything usable these days,” says Day. “Any help that we can get in that sort of activity is greatly appreciated.”
The Municipality of Argyle made the application to ACOA and will oversee the work.
