Another big donation from the Yarmouth Professional Firefighters Association.
They presented a cheque for over $33,000 to Yarmouth County 4H on Friday, thanks to sales from the weekly Nova Scotia Firefighters 50/50 draw.
Association President Lynn Seeley says this goes hand-in-hand with previous donations they’ve given to schools and organizations like Aidaen’s Place.
“Once again, it has to do with children and young adults. This is our way to give back to the community,” says Seeley.
To date, the association has donated over $150,000.
Seeley says the 50/50 has done really well thanks to support from the community.
“For our nine career staff, we’d be forever trying to raise this kind of money. This is the best way we can give back.”
Seeley says they’re planning their next donation for a new score clock in the gym of Maple Grove Education Centre.
Yarmouth Professional Firefighters would once again like to thank everyone for supporting our @rafflebox5050 thru #NSFF5050
