The fourth phase of the Town of Yarmouth’s multi-use trail project starts next week.
“We’re going from Forest Street to Argyle Street, we’re connecting that active transportation trail” says Yarmouth Mayor Pam Mood. “A really exciting project, we’re connecting one end of the town to the other.”
Starting Monday, the northbound lane of Haley Road between Forest Street and Argyle Street will be closed as the trail is extended to cover that area.
Work will happen from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with traffic control in place.
The town says it will take between 10-12 weeks to complete this phase of the project.
The existing trail already runs along Haley Road from Starrs Road to Forest Street.
Mood says everyone should be able to use the trails.
“The days of regular sidewalks are gone for council,” says Mood. “It’s tremendously important that everybody can access these roadways. This will connect that trail so we’re really excited.”
