A 34-year-old Tusket man has been charged in connection with several break-ins at businesses in Yarmouth County.
The Mounties say the businesses were robbed of a combination of lottery tickets, cigarettes, and cash between March 21st and April 27th in Dayton, South Ohio and Yarmouth.
“RCMP investigators determined that the person involved in the break-ins was a tall, thin, white man, who wore rubber boots, jeans and either a blue hoodie or vest or a plaid shirt,” a news release says. “The man would also wear gloves and a mask during the break-ins.”
Police say the man was driving a dark Honda Civic with a pink car seat in the back.
RCMP received word just before 9 a.m. on Wednesday that a man was passed out at a video lottery terminal in Yarmouth.
When officers arrived on the scene, they noted the man matched the description of the robbery suspect.
Jesse Brenton Baker was arrested and charged with several offences:
- Break and Enter and Commit (13 counts)
- Disguise with Intent (5 counts)
- Possession of Break-In Instruments (2 counts)
He’s set to appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on May 2nd.
The investigations are continuing.
