A Shelburne man is facing multiple charges after a string of car thefts earlier this month.
The RCMP say on January 10 they received multiple complaints of vehicles being broken into and rummaged through overnight.
Surveillance video in the area helped police identify a suspect. They served a warrant and searched a home on George St. in Shelburne, recovering some of the stolen property and seizing tools and cellphones, although the suspect was not home.
Donald Reginald Leblanc turned himself in to police yesterday. He faces the following charges:
- Mischief – Damage to Property under $5000 – 3 Counts;
- Trespass at Night – 5 Counts;
- Theft under $5000 – 3 Counts;
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – 4 Counts;
- Possession of Break in Instruments.
He appeared in Shelburne Provincial Court yesterday, was released on conditions, and will return on March ninth.
