More COVID-19 rapid tests are coming to schools in the Tri-Counties.
The Tri-County Regional Centre for Education emailed parents this week, saying Public Health plans on providing more tests for all students and staff starting next week.
They can choose to get tested twice a week regardless of symptoms.
TCRCE Acting Regional Executive Director Jared Purdy says it’s a measure of safety for all involved.
“Where we know that if we do have a student or staff member who is developing symptoms or feeling unwell we’re able to provide those folks with a kit when they go home and are able to take those tests.”
Purdy added they are sticking closely to the current public health measures in schools.
He reminds everyone to follow the public health measures and says they are focused on wearing three ply masks properly.
Purdy says questions on when and how to use the tests should be directed to Public Health.
Students returned to in-school learning this week after the province made upgrades to ventilation systems in a number of schools across Nova Scotia, including seven schools in the Tri-Counties.
