The Municipality of the District of Yarmouth is holding three workshops on aquaculture today.
The planning advisory committee is currently considering changes to the land-use by-law and municipal planning strategy to allow different types of aquaculture activities, but are looking to learn more first.
The workshops start this afternoon with a presentation by research associate Inka Milewski from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Professor of Fin Fish Aquaculture at Dalhousie University Jim Duston will present from 4:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
And a private citizen will speak from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The workshops will be livestreamed on MODY’s Facebook page.
Chair of the planning advisory committee Trevor Cunningham has said that the workshops will round out everybody’s understanding of aquaculture.
