
Three people have been arrested in Yarmouth during a cocaine trafficking investigation.
The Yarmouth/Clare Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with assistance from Meteghan RCMP and Yarmouth Municipal RCMP, executed a search warrant at a home on Pleasant Street yesterday, in relation to the investigation. Two people were arrested without incident. Police seized cocaine and cash after a search.
A third person was identified as being involved and was arrested after turning themselves in.
24 year-old Scott Alan Smith Jr. of Yarmouth has been charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking and three counts of Breach of Probation. He was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court on November 22.
A 45-year-old man is charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. A 22-year-old woman is charged with Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking. Both are from Yarmouth, were released on conditions and are scheduled to appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court on December 20th.
Their names have not been released by police.
The RCMP say the investigation is continuing.
