The Department and Fisheries and Oceans has seized a fishing vessel and, in a separate incident, a quantity of lobster.
Supervisor of conservation and protection for the Meteghan detachment, Dwayne Muise, says on Wednesday night, a vessel was seized by officers and brought to the Meteghan Wharf.
According to Muise, this was the second vessel to be seized from the captain in a short time.
A separate incident took place at the Nova Scotia/New Brunswick border.
Muise says a significant amount of lobster, believed to be from St. Mary’s Bay, was found on an 18 wheeler.
The vehicle and the lobster were seized.
