The Yarmouth Professional Firefighters Association has donated $26,528 to Aidaen’s Place Youth Wellness Center.
Association president Lynn Seeley says the donation comes from their 50/50 draw.
“Since we’ve been involved with the 50/50 draw, we’ve tried to distribute 100% of the proceeds back into the community in places that may need it,” says Seeley. “So far we’ve made choices where they’ve been very thankful and they have needed it. We just want to get the money back out into the community.”
Aidaen’s Place volunteer Kelly Mitchell says the donation couldn’t have come at a better time.
“We have 25-30 volunteers who are all volunteers, no paid positions,” says Mitchell. “We have one girl specifically that puts in so many hours, and she’s got a lot of background, that I’ve been wanting to help with some wages to at least keep one employee on, or get our first employee I should say. This is going to seal the ability to be able to do that.”
