The Musée des Acadiens des Pubnicos will be holding events for the Fête national de l’Acadie.
The events will take place from Friday August 13th to Monday August 16th and include an exhibition on the history of the Acadian flag and a short film on language.
There will also be a meeting and exhibition in the Acadian Garden, an art sale and the traditional noisemaking march, Tintamarre.
Director of the Musée, Bernice d’Entremont, says having the Tintamarre will bring the local Acadian communities, who are separated, together.
“Knowing that all of those communities will be doing the same event, will be shouting loud, shouting your Acadian roots, I think it’s very forceful.”
She says every Acadian community in the Argyle area will hold a Tintamarre and added that although COVID-19 has prevented holding a big event, she’ll keep the other communities in her thoughts.
“I’m sure that when I’ll be in the Tinamarre, I’ll be thinking of all the other people that have joined with me,” says d’Entremont. “I can’t see them, but I know they’re all there.”
