The Bluenose II will be at anchor in Yarmouth today.
The ship is currently on schedule to be anchored at approximately 5 p.m.
The anchoring is part of the Bluenose 100 Sail Past.
Bluenose II Communications Director Emily Sollows says the ship will be anchoring at Cape Forchu.
“They always like to set as much sail as possible, of course that depends on the wind and conditions. Climb the Light is offering free mini-tours, that would be a great vantage point to see the ship come in and anchor just off the lighthouse,” said Sollows.
Sollows, who is from Yarmouth, says during her time on the ship as a deckhand, she didn’t get to dock in Yarmouth
“Being on board Nova Scotia’s sailing ambassador was an experience I wouldn’t trade for anything. I was very fortunate to spend two years on board. We didn’t dock in Yarmouth, but we sailed past it many times. It’s an incredible place to see from the water.”
There is one deckhand from Yarmouth on board, Lilah Taylor.
The ship will be at anchor in Pubnico tomorrow near the Dennis Point Wharf.
