The premier continues to be dogged by a pair of impaired diving charges from nearly two decades ago.
Iain Rankin revealed the charges Monday, one conviction and one dismissed by the court.
Speaking to reporters after cabinet Thursday, Rankin apologised again saying he’s reached out to MADD Canada reps.
“I’ll definitely look at what their priorities are and see whatever I can do to help them prevent people from getting behind the wheel when they shouldn’t be.”
He was also asked if he would be willing to require members of his caucus to publicly reveal any criminal record ahead of the next election.
Rankin didn’t commit to an answer.
“I’m not against that as an idea, so I will think about that and look at what the process is,” he said. “That’s a fair question.”
Rankin repeated himself again, saying he is not planning for an election soon, and his focus remains on the provincial COVID-19 pandemic response.
