A protest calling for justice in Colton Cook's death outside of the Yarmouth courthouse. June 14, 2021.
Another delay in the trial of those charged in relation to the murder of Colton Cook.
The lawyer for Keith Siscoe spoke in Yarmouth Provincial Court today and requested his clients proceedings be pushed ahead.
He cited difficulties contacting Siscoe, adding that they are also awaiting a co-council.
Stacey Cook, Colton’s mother, shared her reaction to today’s proceedings.
“They had a hard time getting ahold of him, as far as I know he’s in jail. It can’t be that hard to get ahold of him. It’s just frustrating.” says Cook.
The new date for Siscoe’s return to court is July 19th.
Siscoe and the two other men charged in the case, Robert Rogers and Wayne Crawford, continue to be remanded in provincial institutions.
Rogers and Crawford have both been charged with second-degree murder and interference with human remains.
The next known date for the case is November 15th, when all three men will return to court for a preliminary hearing.
Stacey Cook also shared her thoughts on the November court date.
“I think it’s way too far. They’ve had long enough time to review their cases. It should have been before my son’s year anniversary of his death.” says Cook.
Colton Cook’s remains were found last September near the intersection of Saunders Road and Raynardton Road in South Ohio.
