Ever wanted to stand at the top of the Cape Forchu lighthouse?
With the start of summer comes a chance to see the area from a different perspective.
The Climb the Light experience is now open and offering guests an opportunity to climb all 77 steps to the top of the Cape Forchu lighthouse.
Yarmouth Municipality CAO Victoria Brooks discussed what they hope people get out of the experience.
“We would like for guests to realize, whether they’re local guests or from away, the pride our community feels in Cape Forchu and how important it is to the community today in terms of not just a tourist destination but a reminder of how we got to where we are today.”

She says the experience is part of the Cape Forchu Master plan.
“Moving forward with the master plan at Cape Forchu, Climb the Light was the first in a series of recommendations made to council in the plan that they approved last year,” says Brooks. “We’ve worked all winter long on fine tuning the experience and getting all of the pieces in place to launch it.”
Future plans for the site include observation decks in different areas, accessibility improvements and an immersive museum experience at the keeper’s house.
Climb the Light can be booked on the Cape Forchu website.
