District 3 Councillor Sheri Hurlburt
A survey looking for feedback on accessibility is now available from the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth.
Councillor and chair of the Accessibility Advisory Committee Sheri Hurlburt discussed the questions people will answer.
“We’ve asked questions on what services and locations people are actually using and taking part in,” says Hurlburt. “We also want to know what services, like municipal business services, are there any barriers our residents or people who are using our services are facing on a regular or not so regular basis.”
She also discussed what they hope to learn from the survey
“We want an honest and upfront overview of people who are using our services,” says Hurlburt. “We talk a lot about barriers and people think about that more for maybe a mobility issue but it could also be how easy it is to access our municipal council meetings.”
The survey can be found on the municipalities webpage.
Hurlburt says they plan to hold community engagement sessions in the fall.
