RCMP say a 22-year-old man died in the crash on Highway 101 near Falmouth on Tuesday.
Police responded to the incident involving a pickup truck and a tractor trailer just before 12:30 a.m.
The Mounties say the pickup truck was travelling eastbound when it lost control and veered sideways into the path of the oncoming tractor trailer. The truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
RCMP say the driver of the tractor trailer wasn’t hurt.
A section of the highway was closed for several hours while a collision reconstructionist attended the scene.
Police continue to investigate.
