RCMP shared this photo of Zack Lefave, who has been missing since early on January 1st. The image includes the shirt he was known to be wearing at the time of his disappearance.
We’ve now entered the sixth month since the disappearance of Zack Lefave.
“We’re just lost basically,” says Kimberly Morton, Lefave’s cousin and family spokesperson. “We just keep following leads, posting things on Facebook hoping somebody messages us. My phone blows up constantly with rumors.”
Lefave was last seen walking on Highway 334 in Plymouth on January first, over five full months ago.
Morton says they have not heard much from the RCMP but are hoping they are doing their job.
“We know somebody in this town knows something,” said Morton. “There’s no way that this happened, whatever happened, with just Zack knowing. There has to be someone involved.”
She says they have been pushing people to contact Crime Stoppers because they know people can be hesitant to contact police.
Ground Search and Rescue were not able to find Lefave during their initial searches. Since his disappearance there has been an outpouring of support to find him from the community.
Organized searches took place and a reward of $30,000 has been raised for information that will lead to finding Lefave.
Morton says the family appreciates the response from the community.
“It’s been amazing, even when he first went missing,” said Morton. “You read and watch shows about this on TV and you don’t ever think that it’s actually going to be your family.”
Lefave’s aunt, Rhonda Lefave, also wants to thank the community for all they have done in searching for her nephew.
When he was last seen, Zack Lefave was wearing a plaid shirt and boxers.
He’s described as white with brown hair, blue eyes and brown facial hair.
