Nova Scotia Health wants people to answer their phones even if they see an unknown caller or a strange number.
Health officials are trying to contact those with a positive COVID-19 test result or people potentially exposed to the virus.
Phone calls might appear as an unknown caller or numbers from other parts of the province.
The health authority announced last week it was starting to contact people with positive COVID-19 cases and exposures by text message.
It’s being viewed as a way to get in touch with people faster.
